Course Contents
- Introduction to porous materials, nomenclature, classification of porous materials, important classes of porous materials and their synthesis including carbon-based porous materials, metal-organic frameworks, zeolites, common characterization techniques including adsorption isotherms and their classifications, BET, microscopy and XRD technique applied to porous materials, overview of selected applications like gas separation, adsorption etc.
What you'll learn
This course aims to provide an overview of the important classes of porous materials, the characterizations employed including BET, adsorption isotherms, XRD, and a few selected applications of nanoporous materials.
About the Instructor
Dr. Deepu J. Babu did his Ph.D. and Postdoctoral research in the field of nanoporous materials. He has more than 11 years of experience in the field of nanoporous materials. He has been teaching this course for the PG students for the past two years. His research interests are in the field of porous materials for various gas separation applications.
